Tommy (Big Tom) McGaha Jr.

James Thomas McGaha Jr., 53, of 318 Sycamore St., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2009.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of Michelle Gaffney McGaha for 27 years and son of Marlene Bell McGaha of Spartanburg and the late James Thomas McGaha Sr. He was employed in construction and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, James Thomas (Little Tom) McGaha III of Spartanburg and fiancée, Kasi Jolly; a daughter, Alisha Michelle McGaha of Gaffney; a son-in-law, Andy Ellis; two grandchildren, A.J. Ellis Jr. and Aneisha Ellis; and a brother, Jock McGaha of Spartanburg.

In addition to his father, Mr. McGaha was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie McGaha and Randy McGaha.

Services will be held Thursday, July 9, at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Norman Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
