Abby Leigh Tyler, 15, of 189 Farm Wind Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2009.

Born in Spartanburg and a lifelong resident of Gaffney, she was the daughter of Kim Barnhill Tyler and the late Stephen Hyland Tyler. She was a student at Gaffney High School and a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, where she was involved in interpretive movement and was a member of the Youth Council. Abby was also a member of the Beta Club, Camellia Society and a Sub Deb member.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Megan Tyler of the home; paternal grandparents, Johnny and Carolyn Campbell of Gaffney; maternal grandparents, Johnny and Pawnee Barnhill of Gaffney; an uncle, Mike Barnhill and wife, Dawn, of Gaffney; an aunt, Rhonda Callison and husband, Will, of Weaverville, N.C.; and an uncle, Shannon Tyler and wife, Stephanie, of Gaffney.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 8, at 4 p.m. at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Tuesday, July 7, from 6- 8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, 805 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, SC 29340.
