Peach Festival
road race
The South Carolina Peach Festival will hold its annual road race events Saturday, July 11, at Limestone College.
A 5K walk and a 10K run will start at 7:30 a.m. The Saints Club One Mile will begin at 8:45 a.m. Only participants registered by July 3 are guaranteed a T-shirt and gift bag.
The cost for the Saints Club One Mile race is $10. The cost for participating in the 5K walk and 10K run is $15 before July 3. After this date, the cost increases to $20.

Bowling tournament
rescheduled
The Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour bowling tournament scheduled to coincide with the S.C. Peach Festival has been postponed. The event will take place in October.
Ninth-grade begins
football practice
Ninth-grade football practice will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at the high school.
Kickball league
to debut in Aug.
A Co-Ed Kickball League will begin Tuesday, Aug. 25. On Thursday, Aug. 27, the league will begin for churches.

Summer league
hoops recap
Indians 45, Wildcats 38
DeShawn Dawkins scored 37 points in a dominating display Tuesday in guiding the Indians to a victory in summer youth basketball league action.
Aided by Dawkins' league scoring record, the Indians outlasted the Wildcats 45-38 as high school recreation teams returned to the B.D. Lee Elementary for games on Monday and Tuesday. Fred Corry led the Wildcats with 11 points.
B&B Trojans 69, Heat 41
B&B Trojans remained unbeaten Tuesday with a 69-41 victory over the Heat.
Ivan Vernon scored a gamehigh 21 points for the Heat. Dominque Byers hit four 3-pointers in a 16 point effort for B&B.
IN OTHER ACTION...
Bethel #1 beat A.Z. Hustlers, 48-41, to pull into a tie for the conference lead in the Division I East Division. Jeff Brown led Bethel with 13 points. Dorrian Gillespie had 11 points for A.Z. Hustlers. The Clippers' Q-Man Shands scored 15 points in a 39-22 victory over One Time.
Monday: Smooth Crew beat First Piedmont Federal, 11-3 in a Division III game.
Bethel #2 beat the Wolfpack, 35-28 in a Division II matchup. Jalen Sims scored 10 points for Bethel #2. Derrick Dawkins scored nine points.
Bethel #1 defeated the Indians, 48-34, in a Division I game. Jeff Brown and DeShawn Dawkins led their teams in scoring with 15 points.
