Continues to remember Gaffney in a wonderful light, expresses sorrow for murder victims
Dear Editor:
I would like to express my sincere sorrow for the victims and their families at the hands of the serial murderer.
Gaffney holds a special place in my heart as my sister-in-law, my niece, and my nephew were killed in a car wreck in Gaffney in or around 1972 and the newspaper wrote a very touching story titled, "Little Rag Doll."
It was a horrible wreck and I hate it had to happen in your fair city but I will always remember Gaffney, not in a bad way, but as a memorial to my family. The kids, Monica and Davey were so beautiful and Linda Sheppard, their mom, was a sweetheart whom I hope to see all again in heaven.
What helped my brother David get through the loss of his family was the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ, and I do hope the fair and good citizens of Gaffney may find HIS comfort in this their time of immense sorrow and loss.
I will continue to remember Gaffney and its people in a wonderful light and may the love of Jesus Christ sustain you and all the citizens at this time. Sincerely, Jerry Sheppard Lenoir City, Tenn.
