The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the armed robbery of a 72-year-old North Carolina man.

According to a police report, a 23-year-old subject from Forest City, N.C., pointed a handgun and fired a shot toward the victim, who is from Hendersonville, N.C., at a location in the 700 block of Rutherfordton Highway in Chesnee.

The subject then robbed the man of his wallet before fleeing, the report states. The alleged incident occurred at about 1:30 p.m. on July 14.

No arrest has been reported.

A West Floyd Baker Boulevard restaurant was burglarized for the second time in less than a week, according to the Gaffney Police Department.

According to police, someone forced entry to Daddy Joe's Beach House BBQ & Grill between 11:30 p.m. July 13 and 8:12 a.m. July 14 and took about $500 in liquor.

Break-in damage was estimated at an additional $300. A security tape of the incident was turned over to police.

The restaurant was previously targeted between the evening of July 8 and morning of July 9.

About $3,000 in damage to a heat pump was reported July 14 on Springwood Drive.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone stripped a heat pump of parts and wiring outside a home in the 300 block.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported a burglary on Brickhouse Road.

According to a police report, someone forced entry to a home in the 800 block between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. and took two firearms, a Playstation 3 video game system and a wallet.

Theft losses exceeded $900 and damage was estimated at $3,000.

A pistol was reported stolen following a burglary on Ballenger Road.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported that someone forced entry to the home in the 700 block between 6 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. on July 14.

A 9 mm High Point pistol was taken from a lock box and $800 in money and change also was missing from the home.

More than $1,000 in electronics and equipment was taken from a Bonner Lake Road home during a July 14 burglary.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone forced entry to the home in the 600 block between 4:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. and took a Hitachi DVD recorder, a carpet shampooer, a Magnavox DVD player and a Dell Inspiron laptop.

A motorcycle was reported stolen from an East Buford Street residence July 14.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone took an orange 1999 Suzuki GSXR-7 motorcycle from the 500 block between 3 p.m. and 9:40 p.m.

The bike has a clear LED light illuminating the license plate number 2B74836.

The bike has aftermarket chrome rims and exhaust and has no mirrors.

It is valued at $5,000.

The Gaffney Police Department is investigating a July 14 incident during which a shot was fired from a vehicle.

According to a police report, a 19-year-old woman was driving with friends. They were stopped at a light at Granard and Robinson streets at about 7:50 p.m. when someone in a burgundy sport utility vehicle parked nearby fired a shot at them.

The victims were able to provide police with a description of the vehicle, which they subsequently found parked.

Police said the hood of the vehicle was still warm, indicating it had recently been driven.

No one would answer the door at the vehicle owner's home. Police said the vehicle owner subsequently called police to inquire about their visit and informed them the vehicle had not been driven all day.

The Gaffney Police Department reported two recent break-ins of vacant residences.

According to police reports, someone entered a vacant home in the 300 block of Sycamore Street between July 8 and July 13.

Damage is estimated at $200 but nothing was reported missing.

Between July 11 and July 15, someone entered a vacant apartment in the 300 block of Humphries Street.

Damage is estimated at $150 but nothing was reported missing.

A missing envelope of money turned up approximately 30 minutes after police were called to Prime Outlets — Gaffney on July 14.

According to a police report, a Lithia Springs, Ga., woman was shopping at an outlet store and accidentally left a money envelope containing about $900 on the store counter. When the woman went back to the store, she discovered the envelope was gone.

Police wrote in a report they spoke with a store clerk who had seen the envelope but didn't know where it had gone. About 30 minutes later, police said the store clerk called mall security and informed them someone had returned the envelope to the store after accidentally picking it up.

All the money was still inside the envelope, police said.
