Says he owes his life to Upstate Carolina Medical Center staff
      Dear Mr. (Joe) Howell, Upstate Carolina Medical Center Administrator: On July 10, I had the misfortune of being stung by fire ants and went into anaphylactic shock. I was working at our flooring store on Hampshire Drive. EMS personnel was called from Upstate Medical and I was carried to the hospital.

Local 9-1-1 department should get thanks for hard work during murder investigations
      Dear Editor: During the nine days in Cherokee County, many people were involved in the investigation. We all think about the law enforcement, but there were others. The people of Cherokee County with their tips, the people who called to send food, the ones who called to send money for the reward, and the fire department to help with the traffic.
