Julia Green Dowdle, 77, of 5-E Christopher Lynn Apts., widow of Edward Dowdle, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, at 5:22 a.m. at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Daughter of the late Aaron Green and the late Bertha Lattimore, she was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Cherokee County. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and formerly employed by Limestone Mill.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anniel Mickles.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Green, Frances Mickles and Dorothy Dukes, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Mae Dowdle of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Lois Peek of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren and other relatives.

The family is at the residence.
