Meetings

The Cherokee County Education Association Retired will meet Thursday, July 23, at noon in Stephenson Dining Hall at Limestone College. Guest speaker will be Patti Guthrie of S.C. Consumer Affairs. Call 489-3784 for more information.

The Cherokee County Public Library Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, July 21, at 4 p.m.

The Gaffney Business and Professional Women's Club will meet Monday, July 20, at 6:30 p.m. at House of Pizza. Speakers will be Kieiaria Dewberry, Christina Jefferies and Haley Stanford, BPW scholarship winners for 2008-2009.

Gaffney Masonic Lodge No. 186 meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Masonic Lodge, 219 E. Floyd Baker Blvd. A meal is served at 6:45 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.

Gaffney York Rite Bodies meets on the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m.

Training workshop

The Cherokee County Literacy Association will have a tutor training workshop Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. (with lunch) and Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (no lunch). Both sessions are required for certification. Call 489-2707 if interested.

Support groups

AA meetings are held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. and Wednesday and Saturday at noon in the building behind Limestone Street United Methodist Church on Carlisle Street. If you have a problem with alcohol, you are welcome to attend.

Narcotics Anonymous meetings are held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 6 p.m. For information call 1-800-828-5689.
