Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Talley Upchurch, 88, of Raleigh, N.C., passed away Friday, July 17, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County.

Mrs. Upchurch was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ernest C. Upchurch, and a brother, Roy Talley, of Gaffney.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ray Russell of Mt. Airy, N.C.; Ernest "Gene" Upchurch of Raleigh; a granddaughter, Kimberly R. Gardner and husband, Matthew; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Dot Talley of Gaffney.

Services were held Monday, July 20, in Raleigh, N.C.
