Post 109 pounds out 22 hits to tie series with 16-6 victory

      In its run to the state championship, Gaffney High played its best in mustwin situations. Post 109 is showing that same ability. A night after dropping the series opener at home to Clover, Michael Hughey had five RBIs and Ryan Westbrook pitched a complete game as Post 109 tied the series at 1 with a 16-6 victory on Tuesday.

      USC Upstate standout golfer and Gaffney native Josh Gallman shot a 2- over-par 74 in the final round Saturday to finish tied for 23rd in the 103rd Southern Amateur played at Colonial Country Club just outside of Memphis, Tenn.

Successful swim coach resigns; Saints begin hunt for replacement

      Ryan Mallam has announced his resignation as head coach of the Limestone College men's and women's swimming programs. Mallam will be moving to Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Fla., where he will serve as the assistant coach for the intercollegiate men's and women's swimming teams, and will also serve as the head coach for the club swimming program.

      Limestone College head women's soccer coach Tina Weaver has announced the addition of four more recruits for the 2009 season. The Lady Saints have received commitments from Courtney Oxner (Honea Path), Devanshea Moses (Hickory, N.C.), Amy Pearson (Townville)and Tarra O'Neil (Hamilton, Ohio).
