A person killed in a fiery Sunday morning crash on Sunny Slope Drive was identified Monday afternoon as a 43-year-old Love Springs Road man.

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said Raymond Anthony Austin was identified through dental records.

An autopsy conducted Monday in Newberry indicated Austin died before the fire, Fowler said.

"Mr. Austin died from injuries sustained in the crash," Fowler said. "I have ruled the death accidental."

Austin's 1997 Ford pickup left the road on Sunny Slope Drive at about 3:50 a.m. Sunday, crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

A neighbor saw the flames and called 9-1- 1.

Firefighters found the pickup fully engulfed upon their arrival.

Austin's death is the 6th traffic related death of 2009 in Cherokee County.
