BIKER INJURED — A motorcyclist was transported to Upstate Carolina Medical Center following a Thursday afternoon crash on Wilcox Avenue. The name and status of the operator of the motorcycle was not immediately available at press time. The motorcycle had a North Carolina license plate. CHIEFS, WINGS AND FIREWATER

A popular Upstate dining spot has expressed an interest in locating a restaurant in Gaffney. Chiefs, Wings and Firewater, with restaurants in Greenville, Spartanburg, Easley and Anderson, are considering locating in the former Ruby Tuesdays on Floyd Baker Boulevard, according to sources familiar with the project. Superintendent Dr. Bill James is one of four administrators earning more than $100,000 during the 2009-2010 school year. Dear Editor: During a time when it was not safe, especially in Cherokee County, to stop and help someone on the side of the road in distress, many people stopped to help. "Slow, Funeral" signs on both sides of the road at opposite ends of our home slowed people down who we have never met before. No radios were heard blaring from vehicles while our family grieved.
