Turner - Thompson vows spoken Aug. 1 at Draytonville Church

MRS. WILLIAM RUSHTON THOMSON (Amy Reneé Turner) MRS. WILLIAM RUSHTON THOMSON (Amy Reneé Turner) Amy Reneé Turner and William Rushton Thomson exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at Draytonville Baptist Church. The Rev. Weldon Sellers officiated the 5 p.m. double ring ceremony.

Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Alisha Hudson as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kellie Hare, Renee Allison, Hannah Levister, friends of the bride; Dawn Howell, Jennifer Smith, Lasinda Turner, Sarah Griffith, cousins of the bride; and Rachel Turner, sister-in-law of the bride.

Anna Turner and Savannah Howell served as flower girls while Turner Smith was the ring bearer. All are cousins of the bride.

The groom was attended by his father as best man. Groomsmen were Ben Thomson, brother of the groom; Davy Turner, Joey Turner, brothers of the bride; Reid Wilkins, JD Lake, Chris Counts, Jimmy Gilchrist, friends of the groom; and Chris Farish, cousin of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Al and Theresa Turner and granddaughter of Betty Hughes and Norma Turner. She graduated from Winthrop University in 2007 with a B.A. degree in Theatre Education.

The groom is the son of Rusty and Jessie Thomson of York and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Rushton of Greenwood. He graduated from Clemson University in 2007 with a B.S. degree in Animal Science.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomson will make their home in York upon their return from a wedding trip to Barbados.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents were hosts for a reception in Stephenson Dining Hall at Limestone College.
