Lula Johnson Lula McAbee Johnson, 77, of 1322 Corinth Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at her residence. Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Ollis Bill Johnson and daughter of the late Smith McAbee and Cora Gibson McAbee. She was a homemaker and member of El Bethel Baptist Church, where she was the custodian for more than 25 years. Mrs. Johnson was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Janice Gibson and husband, Tony, of Gaffney; three sons, Ray Johnson and wife, Terry, of Gaffney, Dean Johnson and wife, Jodie, of Inman and Johnny Johnson and wife, Pattie, of Gaffney; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 2-4 p.m. at El Bethel Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Eddie Smith and Dr. Billy Boone officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
