POLICE REPORT

Thieves broke into several cars recently in various locations around the City of Gaffney.

Between 5:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. July 30, someone smashed a window on a vehicle parked at Prime Outlets — Gaffney to steal a purse that contained nothing but $20 in cosmetics.

Between 6 p.m. and 8:44 p.m. July 30, someone smashed a window on a vehicle parked outside the Sagebrush restaurant on West Floyd Baker Boulevard to steal a purse belonging to a Cowpens woman, police said. The black purse had a black clasp and short handles. It contained about $125 worth of items.

Between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. July 30, someone broke a window on a vehicle parked outside Your Best Body on Old Georgia Highway to steal a wallet that contained a small amount of cash, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said. Damage is estimated at $150.

Between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., someone broke a vehicle window in the 2200 block of Union Highway to steal a purse that contained just $2 in cash as well as two credit cards and a checkbook. Damage is estimated at $150.

Between 8 a.m. July 28 and 8 a.m. July 29, someone entered a work truck in the 700 block of 10th Street and took $500 worth of tools in two work bags and $4 in cash and change, according to the sheriff's office.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported an attempted burglary on Tribal Road in Blacksburg.

According to police, someone tried to kick in the back door of a home in the 100 block between 9:25 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. July 30. No entry was made but the burglar(s) caused about $200 in door frame damage.

About $300 in property was taken from a storage unit at the Crystal Sea Fish Camp on West Cherokee Street in Blacksburg.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the thief or thieves took an air unit and a copper coil between July 20 and July 30.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported a break-in at a Cherokee Avenue business. According to a police report, someone forced entry to the Auto Brite at 905 Cherokee Avenue between 4:30 p.m. July 29 and 7:30 a.m. July 30. The thief or thieves caused about $300 in damage and stole $75 in miscellaneous tools and $12 in cash.

A digital music player was missing from a Goucher School Road home following a July 30 burglary, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

According to police, someone entered the home in the 400 block between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. and took a red-colored digital music player valued at $30.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported the recovery of an $800 bicycle.

A blue-colored Trek competition bicycle was found on the side of Charlie Drive in the Cowpens area on July 29.

More than $4,000 in property was reported stolen from a North Mountain Street home in Blacksburg following a July 30 break-in.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone forced entry to the home between 7:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. and took electronics, a camera, games, DVDs, jewelry and furniture. Damage is estimated at $200.

The Gaffney Police Department filed three arrest warrants against a 44-year-old man accused of breaking and entering storage lockers on North Logan Street.

Donald Eugene Wyatt, of Darby Road, is accused in the warrants of three separate offenses of third degree burglary for incidents that occurred at 941 N. Logan St. between July 9 and July 16, on July 16 and between Jan. 4 and March 7. All the warrants filed by Det. Sgt. Brian Blanton were listed as being served July 28.

A vandal slashed a trampoline on Poplar Springs Drive.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone used an unknown object to cut the jumping area of a trampoline on the property in the 100 block between 11:30 p.m. July 28 and 5:40 p.m. July 29. Damage is estimated at $300.

Almost $25,000 in vehicle parts and accessories was reported stolen from a South Burnt Chimney Road, Blacksburg, work shop following a burglary.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone forced entry to the work shop between July 8 and July 29. Police did not describe the vehicle parts or accessories in the report.

A riding mower was reported stolen from Cherokee Avenue following the burglary of an outbuilding.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone took a dark green Bolens riding mower from the outbuilding in the 3200 block between 5:30 p.m. July 28 and 10 a.m. July 29.

A vehicle was reported stolen from a West Floyd Baker Boulevard title loan business.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone took a white and gray 1993 Chevrolet Blazer from Car Title Loans, 1502 W. Floyd Baker Blvd., between 9:30 p.m. July 27 and 8 a.m. July 28. The vehicle was losing trim on its left front fender due to rust and its reverse gear was dysfunctional. It is valued at $600.
