Dr. Charles E. Moss
EARL, N.C. - Dr. Charles E. Moss, 76, of Bettis Road, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2009, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 5, 1933, in Cherokee County to late Forrest and Agnes Moss.
Charles graduated from Limestone College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He had been in the ministry for 55 years, presently serving as pastor of Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Blacksburg. He enjoyed reading and visiting his church family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy B. Moss.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sybil J. Moss; his son, Scott Moss and wife, Vickye, of Boiling Springs, N.C., and daughter, Kimberly McSwain and husband, Rodney, of Duncan; sisters, Alice Lavender, Ruth Plemmons, Sara Jean Thomas and husband, Ralph, Katherine Moss and Ramona Whitaker of Gaffney; grandchildren, Kaila Starnes and husband, Allen, of Lyman, Katie McSwain of Duncan and Michelle Moss of Gaffney; great-granddaughters, Jeanna Smith, Grace Starnes, Breanna Smith; and step-greatgrandson, Austin Lail.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dr. Charles E. Moss will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Paran Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Buckner. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
