Worked in textiles and carpentry

Jack Pittman Poole, 76, of 185 Poole Road, passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 2, 2009. He was the widower of Carolyn Poole and was born in Gaffney to the late Nathan M. and the late Emma Jackson Poole.

Mr. Poole was a member of High Point Baptist Church. He was retired, but worked in textiles and carpentry during his life.

Surviving are his two children, Billy Poole of Gaffney and Brenda Allison of Reno, Nev.; his grandchildren, Brad Hames, Crystal Poole, Kelly Poole, Steve "Buster" Allison Jr., Jamie Humphries and Sarah Jo Poole; and 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind several brothers and sisters, Bob Poole, Jim Poole and Talmadge Poole, all of Gaffney, and Hattie Poole Kirby of Pacolet.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Poole; a sister, Lillie Mae West; a brother Herschel Poole; and a grandchild, Jack Richard Allison.

Visitation will be at the residence, 185 Poole Road, after 11 a.m. today.

Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, at 4 p.m. at High Point Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Powell, the Rev. Clifford Phillips and Steve "Buster" Allison Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Harold Poole, Randy Poole, Richard Massey, Timmy Powell, Clint Phillips, Bobby Poole and Rocky Poole.

The family is at the residence.
