Helen Upchurch
Helen Louise Wilson Upchurch, 73, of 518 Sixth St., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Harold Dean Upchurch and daughter of the late George Washington Wilson and Birdie Lou Brown Wilson. Mrs. Upchurch was a homemaker and member of Christian Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Wanda Upchurch and Kathy Crowe and husband, Ronnie, both of Gaffney; a grandchild, Michael Crowe; two brothers, Bobby Wilson and Steve Wilson, both of Gaffney; two sisters, Beatrice Jones and husband, Walter, and Norma Nance and husband, Dean, both of Gaffney; and numerous great nieces and nephews who called her Maw-Maw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley Wilson, Leroy Wilson and Billy Wilson.
Services will be held Friday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Randy McCraw and John Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was Thursday, Aug. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
