Piedmont Community Actions Inc. can help local residents with emergency services, including rent, mortgage, medicine, food, utility payment and weatherization.
If you can answer yes to any of the following questions, PCA can help: Are you 30 days or more behind on your rent? Are you facing foreclosure? Do you need help with purchasing your much-needed medications? Is feeding your family a task that seems impossible? Are you facing a disconnection notice from your power company or need help with your energy bill? Is your power bill high because your home needs to be weatherized?
Are you unemployed or looking for a change in your career? If so, PA has programs that can help.
The following documents are needed for assistance: Applicant picture ID; proof of income, if not working, bring statement from unemployment office (benefits history form); everyone 18 years old or older and not receiving income must provide benefit history printout from unemployment office; Social Security cards for all in household members; bring receipt of major bills paid in last 30 days; bring eviction letter/notice from landlord (eviction notice can be a notarized letter or a court-ordered eviction notice); for mortgage, bring letter of default or late notice.
In order to qualify for any of the programs, one must meet income eligibility and program guidelines.
