To the Citizens of Gaffney:

The purpose of this letter is to apologize to the citizens of Gaffney and hopefully start trying to find some closure in all of this.

Please believe me when I say that if my sister or I would have known what was taking place with Mr. Burris that we would have done everything in our power to stop him.

We both have made poor decisions in the company we keep, but that does not mean that we are not God-fearing people. No one should have the right to take the lives of innocent people.

Again, we are sorry on so many levels. The only solace we can find is that God has brought us through this, but none of us will ever be the same again.
