BLACKSBURG - Rebecca Lee Moss Martin, 70, of 658 Martin Hills Road, passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at her home.

Born in Blacksburg, Mrs. Martin was the wife of Curtis Martin of the home and daughter of the late J.D. and Ellen Lanier Moss. Mrs. Martin was retired from operating her own general merchandise store and was a member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Curtis Martin Jr. and Rick Martin, both of Blacksburg; three daughters, Linda Steward, Renee Ettlemyer, both of Blacksburg , and Cheryl Coffey of Mt. Holly, N.C.; three brothers, Neb Moss, Charlie Moss, both of Blacksburg, and Billy Moss of Grover; 13 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Pennington.

Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 3 p.m. at Cherokee Falls Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Knotts and Eric Nixon officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

The deacons of the church will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 17, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary and at other times they will be at the residence.
