Couple exchange vows in August 5 ceremony

MR. AND MRS. JAMES EDWARD GOODWIN MR. AND MRS. JAMES EDWARD GOODWIN Cathy Harrill Foster of Gaffney and James Edward (Eddie) Goodwin of Blacksburg were married on Aug. 5, 2009, at the home of the bride's daughter and son-inlaw, Marsha and Roy Scruggs. Following the 5:30 p.m. ceremony, performed by David Cook, a reception was given by Marsha Scruggs, Tina Foster and Debra Harrill.

The bride is the daughter of Junie Harrill of Gaffney and the late Evelyn Harrill. A graduate of Gaffney High School, she is employed by ACE Hardware-ACE Rental.

The groom is the son of Virginia W. Goodwin of Winston- Salem, N.C., and the late Charles D. Goodwin. A graduate of Carlisle Military School in Bamberg, he is Operation Manager at Prime Outlets.

Given in marriage by her son and daughter, Brad Foster and Marsha Scruggs, the bride was attired in an offwhite floor-length gown and carried a bouquet of white and red roses.

Hope Scruggs served as her grandmother's maid of honor and the bride's daughter, Marsha Scruggs, was bridesmaid. Both of the attendants carried red roses.

Autumn Foster, granddaughter of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a white lace dress and carried rose petals.

Malachi Scruggs, grandson of the bride, served as the ring bearer and attended the groom as best man.

A reception will be held on Dec. 2 with the family of Mr. Goodwin. Lyndsey Palmer, daughter of Eddie Goodwin, will sing. Following the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin will take a trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., for their honeymoon and will make their home in Blacksburg.
