Rebecca Davis, 64, of 121 Monroe Road, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, on arrival at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Cherokee County, she was a daughter of the late Ebb and Bessie Linder Davis. She was a 1962 graduate of Granard High School, a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and an employee of Hamrick's.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, George William Davis Sr.

Surviving are two sons, James Peoples (Lisa) of Gaffney and Thomas Davis of the home; a brother, Joe Louis Davis of Gaffney; eight sisters, Clara P. Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Fernanders, Amogene Byers, both of Gaffney, Christine Reaves of Detroit, Mich., Parnice Jefferies (James) of Gaffney, Alice Davis of Texas, Burdie Garnett (Sam) and Ezera Thompson (Horace) of Gaffney; and four grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating.

The family is at the home of Burdie and Sam Garnett, 211 Midway Terrace, Gaffney.
