Sorority holds executive session, beginning meeting on August 17
Xi Alpha Delta chapter of Beta Sigma held an executive meeting Monday. Aug. 17, at 6 p.m. at the home of Shirley Addis.
Patty Andrews, president, presided and several members were present, which consisted of officers for the new year and three officers from the past year. There were discussions for the new year, such as monthly meeting dates, hostesses and programs as well as socials, service, and Ways and Mean projects. All committees were organized, naming a chairman for each one.
At 7 p.m., the entire sorority held its beginning meeting at Mrs. Addis' home. The meeting was called to order by Andrews. Libby Reed led the opening ritual and the roll call was given by the secretary, Ruth Ann Ohlsen, with 14 members present. The secretary also read the minutes of the May meeting and all was approved. Shirley Addis, treasurer, gave an up to date financial report. The vice president, Shirley Turner, asked that all sisters work together for new membership participation.
The president presented to the sisters a review of the new officers and standing committee chairmen and their members. The Beta Sigma Phi theme, "Share Our Passport to Adventure," was discussed by all. Pieces of art concerning the theme were prepared by Ohlsen.
The next meeting for the 2009-2010 year will be at the home of Ann Loftis at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14.
