Rock Doctors at 'Shindig'

2009-08-26 / Local News

The "Shindig at the Gaffney Cabin" Free Concert Series will continue its fall season with a second free concert on Thursday, August 27. This second concert will also be from 6-8:30p.m., and will feature a performance by The Rock Doctors.

The Rock Doctors formed in early 2008 in Upstate South Carolina around a core of two keyboard players and a bassist who had known each other and played together since the early 1980s. The original goal of the band was to play music that utilized two keyboards, and allowed the band to more faithfully reproduce classic songs that define a generation.

In the fall of 2008, a guitarist and drummer joined the trio to complete this band. The Rock Doctors feature four accomplished vocalists and tight vocal harmonies, along with complex keyboard arrangements and hot guitar licks for a music experience you won't soon forget. From classic Beatles, Stones, and Steppenwolf, to Steely Dan, Jackson Browne, and the Eagles, this is a band that offers not only great song selection, but great quality.

The "Shindig at the Gaffney Cabin" Free Concert Series is sponsored by the City of Gaffney. The free concerts will take place at the Michael Gaffney Log Home, located at 214 N. Limestone St. in Downtown Gaffney. In case of rain or inclement weather, the concerts will be moved to the Capri Theater, located at 302 N. Limestone St. For more information on the "Shindig" series, contact Will deBorde at the City of Gaffney Visitors Center at (864) 487-6244.
