Beulah Marie Spencer Blanton, 94, of 135 Stacy Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at her home.

Born in Cherokee County, she was the widow of Raymond Henry Blanton Sr. and daughter of the late Ellie Spencer and Annie Mahaffey Spencer. She was retired from Oxford Industries and a member of Draytonville Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Raymond Blanton Jr. and wife, Delores, of Gaffney; two daughters, Elizabeth Blanton Waters of Andrews and Betty Davidson and husband, Jimmy, of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Eric Blanton and wife, Gina, Rae Garcia and husband, Mike, Jennifer Funderburk and husband, Chad, Barry Davidson and wife, Lucy, and Jody Davidson and wife, Allison; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 3-4 p.m. at Draytonville Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Robert Ivey and Dr. Keith Harrill officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
