Boyd A. Mullinax

Boyd A. Mullinax, 68, 103 Kentwood Road, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Hospital for Restorative Care in Spartanburg after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Mullinax was the husband of Lillie Mullinax and son of Pearl Peeler Mullinax of Gaffney and the late Reynolds Mullinax. A native of Cherokee County, he was a tree cutter by trade.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Arlene Langston and Elizabeth Mullinax, both of Gaffney; four sons, Christopher Mullinax, Ronnie Mullinax, Boyd Mullinax Jr. and John Mullinax, all of Gaffney; three grandchildren; brothers, Clyde Mullinax, Donnie Mullinax, Doug Mullinax, Billy Mullinax and Terry Mullinax, all of Gaffney; and sisters, Janice James, Carolyn Holcomb, Helen Hall and Corine Holcomb, all of Gaffney.

In addition to his father, Mr. Mullinax was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Mullinax; a grandson, Jeremy Langston; a brother, Dennis Mullinax; and a sister, Sarah Francis Mullinax.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, Aug. 27, at 11 a.m., graveside at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gaffney with Rev. Henry Guyton officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service .

Pallbearers will be Niles Mullinax, Steve Holcomb Jr., Hope Mullinax, Ned Mullinax, Justin Holcomb and Chad Murray.

The family is at the home.
