Linda Marie Dawkins Holmes, 60, of 126 Lincoln Drive, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at Brookview Healthcare Center.

Wife of Eddie Lee Holmes, she was born in Gaffney, a daughter of Marie Dawkins and the late L.D. Dawkins Sr. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

Also surviving are two daughters, Trena Holmes of Greenville and Teronda Holmes of Gaffney; two brothers, Evangelist L.D. Dawkins Jr. (Bernice) of Gaffney and James Robinson of Asheville, N.C.; six sisters, Etta Ree Jones, Jessie Mae Manning (W.C.), Rev. Mary Jefferies (Orban Sr.), Julia Rodgers, all of Gaffney, Pamela Black (Victor) of Blacksburg and Sheila Dawkins of Gaffney; two grandsons, Harlem Walker and Tyler Norris; sisters-in-law, Mary Katherine Thomas (James) and Arrilla Holmes; and brothers-in-law, Olee Holmes (Sheila) and James Manning (Rev. Modestine).

The family is at the home and also at the home of her mother at 203 Serene Drive.

Services will be Friday, Aug. 28, at 3 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
