      Katie Nicole Phillips and Stephen Justin Jones were married Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. The Rev. Martin Hogg officiated the double ring ceremony. Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white gown of plush organza with a beaded sweetheart neckline.

      The Believers Institute for Biblical Studies will begin its fall semester on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church Training Center. Degrees offered are Associate of Biblical Studies, Bachelor of Biblical Studies and Master of Biblical Studies.

     CNAs GET 'INKLING' OF APPRECIATION - Brookview Healthcare Center's Resident Council recently hosted a reception honoring all of the facility's certified nursing assistants. Ed Fowler, president of the council, thanked the CNAs for the outstanding jobs they do each day and also presented each CNA an ink pen, stating that the gift was only an "inkling" of appreciation for the dedication and professionalism each of them show while giving quality care to the residents of Brookview.
