BELMONT, N.C. - Ellen Kennedy Kinley, 88, of Belmont, died Aug. 29, 2009, at her home.

A native of Henrietta, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Rose Ann Byers Kennedy. Ellen was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Hope and Betty Stevenson, both of Belmont; three granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; and a sister, Doris Wheeler of Henrietta.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kinley, and sons, Jimmy and Gene Kinley.

Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 3 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church in Mount Holly with Pastor Randy Arrowood officiating. Burial will follow in Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 6- 8 p.m. at McLean Funeral Directors, Belmont.
