Heather Nicole Benton and Joshua Caleb Ritchie Billy and Debbie Benton announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Nicole, to Joshua Caleb Ritchie.

Miss Benton is the granddaughter of Gene Wilson, Betty Benton, both of Gaffney, the late Joanne Wilson and the late Dean Benton. She is a graduate of Gaffney Senior High School and selfemployed.

Mr. Ritchie is the son of Jerry and Marylin Byars of Gaffney and Terry Purvis of Lafayette, Colo. He is the grandson of Mel Ritchie of Phoenix, Ariz., Doris Purvis of Lafayette, Colo., Rocky and Chris Byars of Gaffney, the late MaryLou Ritchie and the late Melvin Purvis. Mr. Ritchie is a graduate of Gaffney Senior High School and is employed by Quality Masonry of Gaffney.

A December 26 wedding is planned.
