Miss Phillips, Mr. Jones exchange vows Aug. 1
MRS. STEPHEN JUSTIN JONES (Katie Nicole Phillips) Katie Nicole Phillips and Stephen Justin Jones exchanged marriage vows Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. The Rev. Martin Hogg officiated the double ring ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white gown of plush organza detailed with a beaded sweetheart neckline. Crystal beaded lace overlaid the sculptured strapless bodice to the empire waistline with asymmetrical draping over the midriff. The full A-line skirt was enhanced with a soft draping and a border of lace surrounded the hemline and followed into a chapel length train. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies and miniature white roses with greenery.
Emily Renae Phillips attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Lauren Baber of Union, Stephanie McGill Barnhill of Campobello, Sheila Marie Mansell of Spartanburg, Megan Jones Sarratt of Lexington and Kelly Diane Thornton of Gaffney. The attendants wore royal blue sleeveless full A-line tea-length dresses and carried hand-tied bouquets of longstemmed yellow calla lilies.
Flower girl was Josie Kelly Humphries of Gaffney. She wore a white tiered organza gown with a white floral accent.
The father of the groom, Steven Rodney Jones, served as best man. Groomsmen were David Michael Brown of Greenville, Jason Ira Brown and Kevin Todd Hampton of Spartanburg, Timothy Matthew Childers of Gaffney and Jay Camp Patterson of Memphis, Tenn.
Honorary groomsmen were Joshua Brian Barnhill of Campobello, Philip Lane Bolin of Spartanburg and Kyle Edward Sarratt of Lexington.
Ring bearer was Jess Duncan Humphries of Gaffney.
A candle was lit in a flower arrangement in loving memory of the bride's and groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Earl Lancaster, Oliver Thad Phillips and Mr. and Mrs. Harold O. Jones.
Music was provided by vocalists Shelba Huskey Cook, Rhonda White Hamrick and Laura McCraw Keller; organist, Sandra Bagwell Ellis; and pianist, Laura McCraw Keller. Selections included "Household of Faith" by Alexandra; "In This Very Room" by Purcell; and "The Lord's Prayer" by Malotte. The mothers and grandmother were seated to "How Beautiful" by Parris. "Spring Praise" by Vivaldi was played for the processional and after the chiming of the wedding hour "Trumpet Voluntary" by Purcell was played for the entrance of the bride. "Wedding March" by Mendelssohn and "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven were rendered for the recessional.
Allison Beth Lemmons attended the guest register. Caryl Brooke Bailey and Rebecca Faith Eubanks served as program attendants. Greeters were Dr. and Mrs. John D. Courtney and Mr. and Mrs. Barry S. Morgan. Mr. Tracy Parris was the wedding director.
The bride is the daughter of Joyce L. Phillips and Jerry L. Phillips and granddaughter of Hazel Atkins Phillips and the late Oliver Thad Phillips and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Earl Lancaster of Landrum.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Price and Stephen R. Jones and grandson of Jenny L. Ward and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold O. Jones
A reception followed at Cherokee National Golf Course.
After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple will make their home in Gaffney.

Prior to the wedding, an Around the Clock shower was given at the home of Diana Bedenbaugh on Sunday, April 26. Co-hostesses were Allison Lemmons, Renae Phillips and Kelly Thornton.
A miscellaneous shower was given by the shower committee at Grassy Pond Baptist Church on Sunday, June 14.
A couple's shower was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Barnhill. Co-hosts were Sheila Mansell and Todd Hampton.
A gift card and money shower was hosted by Kelly Price, Megan Sarratt and Susie George on Saturday, June 27, at Draytonville Baptist Church.
A bridesmaids' brunch was given by Diane Parker on Aug. 1 in the Social Hall of Grassy Pond Baptist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Price hosted a rehearsal dinner honoring the couple at Kelly's Steak House in Blacksburg on Friday, July 31, following the rehearsal.
