Ruth W. McCluney
Ruth Wilkins McCluney of 106 Camellia Circle, widow of David McCluney, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at 11:35 p.m. at Peachtree Centre.
Daughter of the late Elkins Wilkins and the late Altia Wilkins, she was a native of Cherokee County and a member of White Plains Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir, church treasurer and musician for the Sunday School Department. Mrs. McCluney was a 55-year member of Virgin Mary Chapter No. 192, Order of the Eastern Star, and was retired from Burton Dixie of Blacksburg.
She is survived by her son, Harold McCluney Sr. (Margaret) of the home; two grandchildren, Harold McCluney Jr. (Francine) of Raleigh, N.C., and Sabrina Oliver (Benjamin) of Columbia; four greatgrandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCluney Sr., 106 Camellia Circle.
