l Friends of Antioch Day will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, beginning at 11 am. at Antioch Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Blacksburg. Bring a well-filled basket and join in the fellowship of friends.

l The Shady Grove Baptist Church Praise Singers Ministry will sponsor a Shady Grove "Miss Wee" and "Master Wee" contest for ages 0 to 2 years old and a Shady Grove "Prince and Princess" contest for ages 3 to 7 on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 3:30 p.m. Area singing groups will be on program. lGowdyesville Baptist Church is an ongoing host site for Angel Food Ministries, a nonprofit, nondenominational ministry dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States. Anyone can purchase a box of groceries for $30. One box will feed a family of four for one week or a family of one for a month. Purchases may be made with cash and EBT (food stamps). Online ordering is available at www.angelfoodministries. com and you can make your purchase with debit and credit card online; use Gowdyesville Baptist Church as your host for ordering.
