CHAPS will host annual Antique and Collectible Car Show Sept. 19
Have you ever eaten ostrich, alligator, buffalo, kangaroo, elk or wild boar? No? You'll get the opportunity to taste these unusual delicacies at the annual Antique and Collectible Car Show to be held Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Cherokee County History and Arts Museum.
A family day of fun has been planned and the public is invited to attend. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children under 12.
There will be plenty of food, including The Snack Shack Exotic Jerky, Willy T's barbecue, Your Best Body's muffins and smoothies, Justin Adler's funnel cakes, and CHAPS's own Snak Shack.
Henna tattoos will be a great way to take home a memory of your fun day. The hand-painted designs will be limited only by your imagination.
In addition to enjoying the delicious food and restored cars, trucks and motorcycles, you can sit under the trees and listen to the music of Southern Thunder.
"With all the planning and interest, this year's car show may be our largest," said committee member Steve Moore.
Over 100 trophies will be awarded, including Spectator's Choice and Poor Man's. A silent auction, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing will be included in the day's activities.
"I would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who donated door prizes and generously sponsored our trophies," said Rick Little. "I hope everyone will come out and support the museum and the car show."
Pre-registration for the car show is $15 and $20 the day of the show. To register, call 489-3988 or go to www.cherokeecountyhistory.org.
