Google's Android unveiled

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Struggling handset maker Motorola has unveiled its first phone using Android.

It is banking on Google's free operating system to power features and applications that will attract consumers looking to use their phones to connect with their friends, family and colleagues.

The Motorola Cliq and other Androidbased handsets Motorola Inc. plans to release could be the key to reviving its handset division, which hasn't produced a hit since the wildly popular Razr phone in 2005.
