Leonard Price

Homebuilder for many years

 
Leonard Price, 86, of Magnolias of Gaffney, formerly of 113 W. Third St., passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center, Gaffney.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the widower of Bessie Mae Blackwell Coyle Price and son of the late Hyder and Sophia Matthews Price. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a homebuilder for many years.

He is survived by a daughter, Lucille P. Lipsey of Gaffney; and a son, Earl Coyle of Gaffney; three grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bert Price, Raymond Price and Jerry Price; and a sister, Dorothy Atkins.

Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 13, from 1- 3 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church A Celebration of Life service followed at 3 p.m., with the Revs. Scott Kierstead, Barry Goodman and Lee Coyle officiating. Burial was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Victor Farish, Adam Coyle, Nathan Coyle, Jerry Blackwell, Terry Blackwell, Ray Price and Andrew Farish.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Sunday School Class of Temple Baptist Church.
