Cuba and Canadian greed

Dear Editor,

I have been listening to the debate raging around Health Care Reform - I mean Health Insurance Reform these past few weeks.

A disturbing undercurrent of this mess has been a constant and grinding assertion from some people that the American health care system should be modeled after the health care system in Cuba.

Mind you - not the health care systems in England, Germany, Spain, France or Japan which are of high quality and provide good care - but the health care system in Cuba.

Representative Diane Watson of California is one such raving supporter of Fidel Castro. I heard a clip of her praising Fidel Castro and talking about how Che Guevera threw the rich out of Cuba and then searched around for a leader and found Fidel.

Fidel Castro's Cuba lives like a parasite - first on the Russians and now the Canadians. Cuba exports many things - including sugar, oil and something called cobalt.

Cobalt is used to make steel harder. Some cobalt is radioactive and is used in medical equipment, automobiles, airplanes and many other expensive items.

Americans are not allowed to trade with Cuba. Canadians are.

The healthcare system in Cuba is not a result of superior social engineering - it is the result of Canadian greed.

The Cubans work to death providing Canadians with cheap raw materials and the Canadians then sell products in the United States. Fidel's Cuba is working to help keep another generation of slaves eagerly working for their Canadian masters.
Sincerely,
Alfred Brock
