Peachtree Centre hosting annual Fun Day Sept. 19

Peachtree residents are surrounded with some of the many silent auction items.
Peachtree Centre is again asking Cherokee County residents to open their hearts and wallets to help buy Christmas presents for the 140 men and women who live at Peachtree, some of whom may not have any family with whom to enjoy the holidays.

For the 12th year, Peachtree is holding a fundraiser, which includes a four-day silent auction that began Wednesday and a Fun Day on Saturday, Sept. 19, with kids' rides, petting zoo, bake sale and entertainment.

All of the profit goes to the residents' Christmas/ Activity fund.

Saturday is definitely the day to come to Peachtree to enjoy the fun and companionship. Children can play on the rides and enjoy the petting zoo for $5, unlimited. There will be face painting, funnel cakes, snow cones, hamburgers and hot dogs for sale.

Final bidding on silent auction items will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. There are more than 150 items in the auction totaling approximately $10,000.

Some of the items include a children's ride-on golf cart valued at $380; vacations at either the beach or Great Wolf Lodge; a dinner casino cruise; MP3 players; digital photo frames; gift certificates; jewelry; craft items; home decor and children's toys.
