BLACKSBURG - James (Jay Jay) Lee Jones, 70, of 114 Green St., went home to be with the Lord September 19, 2009.

A native of Jones County, N.C,, he was a son of the late Raymond and Sadie Harper Jones. He was a veteran serving in the United States Navy and was a mechanic by trade.

 

Jay Jay is survived by a son, Jayson Jones of Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Justin Jones of Mooresboro, N.C., Jared Jones of Grover, N.C., Jayla Jones of Gaffney and Jayde Jones of Blacksburg; three sisters, Nell J. Turnbull and husband, Malcolm, of Richmond, Va., Carol J. Jones and husband, Clifford, of Pink Hill, N.C., and Marie J. Winsted and husband, Reggie, of Richmond, Va.

In addition to his parents, Jay Jay was preceded in death by a son, Jayme Jones, and a brother, Cleveland Jones.

The family is at the home of Anita Jones Griffin, 114 Green Street, Blacksburg.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Jones County, N.C.
