James Anthony Leach, 44, of 12-A Heritage Square Apartments, West Buford Street, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at 3 p.m. at his residence.

Son of Minnie Brown Leach of Gaffney and the late James Frederick Leach, he was born on April 29, 1965, in Cherokee County. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and a graduate of Gaffney High School where he was a football player. He was last employed by Brown's Packing Company.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Shanna Hopper of Gaffney; three sisters, Debra Leach Phillips, Rev. Adriene L. Jamison and Kimberly L. Crosby, all of Gaffney; a brother, Timothy L. Brown of Gaffney; one grandchild; one uncle; six aunts; three great uncles; one great aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family is at the home of his niece and nephew, John and Julia McGill, 111 Carver St.
