Ulysses G. Hoey

Retired from Alcoa

Ulysses Grant Hoey, 67, of 301 Granite Drive, widower of Mary Sarratt Hoey, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at his residence.

Son of the late Willie Hoey and the late Essie Mae Jefferies Hoey, he was born March 12, 1942, in Gaffney. He was a graduate of Granard High School and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Usher Board. He was a retired employee of Alcoa, formerly Southeastern Plant, of Gaffney.

He is survived by a son, Norman Dean Crosby of Gaffney; a daughter, Tina Holmes of Gaffney; four sisters, Edna Craig, Frances Walkins, Denise Lawrence and Priscilla Bell, all of Shelby, N.C.; two brothers, Roy Hoey of Dayton, Ohio, and Robert Lee Hoey of Gaffney; two grandchildren who were reared in the home; and a host of other relatives.

The family is at the residence, 301 Granite Drive.
