Martha Wylene Owensby, 38, formerly of Gaffney, passed away Monday morning, Sept. 21, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. She was a native of Cherokee County, having been born to Alvenia Owensby Murphy and the late Jimmy Lee Brown on Nov. 23, 1970. Being a caring person, she worked in home healthcare as a caregiver.

She leaves behind, along with her mother Alvenia, her two sons, Curtis Tanner Ettylmeyer of Blacksburg and Wesley Jackson Owensby of Gaffney; three sisters, Kelly Davis of Blacksburg, Kim Barber of Shelby, N.C., and Donna Mullinax of Gaffney; and her fiancé, Randy Hawkins of Lenoir, N.C.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Sep. 29, at 4 p.m. at Spirit and Truth Church with the Rev. Calvin Hall officiating.

The family will be at the home of her mother, Alvenia Murphy, 208 Kraft Road, Gaffney.
