Teen implores ‘please let it go’
Dear Editor:
I’m writing regarding the Bank of America incident. My name is Donovan Rush DesLauriers. I am writing to you to ask the people to let it go. If you’re respectful, respect the employees of the bank too. It was a mistake.
I’m 14 and in fear of being hurt or my mother who works there being hurt. I’ve been in fear since this started. My mom has gotten threatening calls saying there were going to bomb the bank or kill her and her family. I think if you have a problem, call corporate. My aunt just wrote you but nothing changed. Please, for everyone’s sake, please stop. I don’t want my mom or my family to be hurt. If it takes a 14-yearold to ask for this to stop, you’re not as respectful as you think.
Respect Chris. Don’t fight about it. OK? Let’s make peace. What kind of person threatens to kill someone over a mistake? That’s not very civilized. Yes, I understand about Chris. Yes, it’s very sad. But I don’t think he’d like this going on and innocent people being threatened and scared. Chris earned the respect. He deserves it. He fought and died for our safety and freedom. That’s a very caring thing to do. But please let it go. I love my mom, my family and everyone who works at the bank. Please, I do not want any of them to get hurt or killed like so many people call and say that’s what they are going to do to them because they work at the bank.
Some kids whose moms work at the bank are being harassed at school. Why? We are innocent. We love our moms very much. I don’t understand why people are so mean and nasty to the people who work at the bank.
So I ask, please stop.
Thank you,
Donovan R. DesLauriers
Gaffney, S.C.
