The Cherokee County Branch of the NAACP will have a radiothon for memberships and a fish fry on Saturday, Sept. 26, starting at 11 a.m. The fish fry will be at the home of Jessie Mae Manning.
Gospel singing
True Gospel Independent Baptist Church, 312 Pondfield Road, will have a singing Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. featuring The Blood Bought Singers.
"In House" will present a concert Sunday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. at Cherokee Falls Baptist Church, 1209 School St., Cherokee Falls. Guests and members who sing gospel music are invited to participate.
The Mystery Men Quartet with Ed Crawford, formerly of the Kingsmen, and Gospel Music Hall of Fame member Steve Warren will be in concert Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Chesnee Gospel Music Center on Green Lake Road. Hot dog and spaghetti plates will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Harris Baptist Church will have a singing Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. featuring Darinn Aldridge and Brooke Justice of Cherryville, N.C.
Family reunion
Descendants of Joseph and Jamima Jones Hammett are invited to attend the Hammett reunion on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church Family Life Center at 1 p.m. Relatives are also invited to attend the 11 a.m. worship service to honor ancestors.
The annual Bird reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, at 12:30 p.m. in the fellowship building at Antioch Baptist Church in Blacksburg. All descendants of Mark Bird are urged to attend. A covered dish meal will be served, followed by a short business session.

White Plains Baptist Church, 206 Soap Stone Road, will have homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 27, beginning at 10:30 a.m. There will be special singing, preaching and a covered dish meal meal in the Family Life Center.
Mikes Creek Baptist Church will have a church business meeting Saturday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. This is an important meeting and all members are requested to attend.
Judgment House – "At the Crossroad" – will be presented by Hopewell Baptist Church on Sept. 25-27 and Oct. 2-4. Friday hours are 7-9 p.m.; Saturday, 6-9 p.m. and Sunday, 4-8 p.m. The church is located at 511 Old Chester Road, Blacksburg. Call 839- 6643 for reservations. Walkins are welcome but reservations are recommended.
Bethany Baptist Church, 215 Wilkinsville Hwy., will have its 55th annual homecoming service on Sunday, Sept. 27, beginning at 10 a.m. Dr. Robert Dickard, Faye and Lynn will be honored guests. Dr. Dickard served as pastor from 1978-1981. Several former music directors will be present, including Holly Jollay, Patty Ensley and Susan Harris. Lauren Harris Cantrell will sing. Following morning worship, dinner will be served in the fellowship hall. Those attending are asked to bring plenty of their favorite foods.
Southside Baptist Church, 204 W. O'Neal St., will be having Family Day on Sunday, Sept. 27. Members, former members, friends and guests of Southside are invited to share in this special day. Ashby Blakely will be the guest speaker for the 10:30 a.m. service. Not only will he be speaking, he will be sharing in special music. Following the morning service, there will be a meal in the Family Life Center. All members are encouraged to bring a wellfilled basket of food for their family plus a little extra for guests.
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 509 Cherokee Falls Road, Blacksburg, will have fall revival services beginning Sunday, Sept. 27, and continuing through Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Sunday service will begin at 6 p.m and the week night services will be at 7. The Sunday morning service will begin at 11 a.m. The Rev. Steve Blanton, pastor of West Franklin Baptist Church, Gastonia, N.C., will be the guest speaker.
An installation of trustees Sammy Littlejohn and Torrey Leach and a recognition of deaconess service will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church of Gaffney, 300 Serene Drive. Speaker will be the Rev. Antonio Smith, pastor of Gowdyesville Baptist Church.
Miraculous Healing and Prophetic Ministries, 124 Soco Gap Road, Ellenboro, N.C., will be hosting a Birthday Musical and Black and White Attire Birthday Party on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. for Bishop Marcus Strong.

All Junior Missionaries and Advisors of the Thickety Mountain Baptist Association will have final rehearsals for their Baptist Week program on Saturday, Sept. 26, at noon at Bethel Baptist Church.
