Worked at Clariant Corporation for 37 years

BLACKSBURG – David Lee Eudy, 62, of 204 W. Lime St., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

Born in Gastonia, Mr. Eudy was the husband of Rose Hall Eudy of the home and son of the late John and Grace Ledbetter Eudy. He served as a

United States Marine

during the

Vietnam War and worked at Clariant Corporation for 37 years as a plant manager and chemical specialist. He was recognized in Fortune 500 Who’s Who for the past five years and was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Eudy is survived by four sons, Logan Craig Melton Eudy of Blacksburg, Christopher Melton, Craig Steven Melton Jr., both of Clover, and Ernest Helms of Gaffney; four daughters, Angel Rose Melton Eudy of the home, Lisa D. Melton of Blacksburg, Danielle Goins of Blacksburg and Charity Rose Henson of Gastonia; a brother, Richard Eudy of Mt. Holly, N.C.; a sister, Grace Warren of Gastonia; and six grandchildren, Amber Stewart of Blacksburg, Cheyenne Rose Whaley, Ericka Lee Ann Whaley, Kendra Henson, all of Gastonia, Ethan Helms and Phillip Vahle, both of Gaffney.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Eudy was preceded in death by a brother, John Eudy.

The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 25, from 6-9 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at 2 at St. Johns United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Boshell officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gaffney.

The family is at the home of Lisa Melton, 116 E. Jones St., Blacksburg.
