‘We Are the One’ opens library’s fall Music Sandwiched-In season
     The Cherokee County Public Library will present “We Are the One” on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 12:15-1 p.m. in the first Music Sandwiched-In concert of the fall season. A free lunch will be served by the Friends of the Library. The talented group’s show will feature soul standards from the 60s and 70s.

Performance set for Sept. 29 in Fullerton Auditorium
      The Arts Council will present the Jazz Arts Trio in concert on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium. The audience will listen as the ensemble brings to life some of the best trio arrangements of piano giants such as Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Vince Guaraldi, Erroll Garner, Horace Silver, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea.

Bradleys celebrate 50th anniversary
      Bill and Kay Bradley of Gaffney are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, Sept. 25, 2009. Mr. and Mrs. Bradley were married in 1959 in Gaffney. Their children are Donna Childers, Russ Bradley and Robin Bradley, all of Gaffney. They have six grandchildren. The couple will celebrate with their family.

Events of 132nd annual session scheduled Sept. 26-Oct. 1
      Shady Grove Baptist Church will host the 132nd annual session of the Thickety Mountain Missionary Baptist Association, Sept. 26-Oct. 1. The theme for Baptist Week is "Embracing Diversity Through Communication, Transformation and Education." The Rev. Tony Macomson, pastor of Suck Creek Baptist Church, is Moderator of the association.

GLT plans Saturday fundraiser
      Gaffney Little Theatre will sponsor a fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 26, behind the Michael Gaffney Cabin as a part of the annual Michael Gaffney Day celebration. Hamburger and hot dog plates with slaw, chips, relish, onions and pickles will be served beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until 1 p.m. Beverages and desserts will be offered at neighboring concessions.
