The Rev. Dr. Annie Ruth Dawkins Byrd, 63, of Monroe, Conn., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009.

Daughter of the late William “Bill” Dawkins Sr. and the late Ruby Dawkins and step-daughter of Trudy Dawkins of Gaffney, she was a native of Gaffney and a member of Miracle Faith World Outreach Church of Monroe, Conn. She was a 1964 graduate of Granard High School.

Also surviving are two children, William W. Byrd III and Trina Y. Byrd- Nagle; three sisters, Francis Ashe of Greer, Linda Hardy and Mottina Wilson, both of Gaffney; three brothers, William Dawkins Jr. of Boiling Springs, Sherman Dawkins of Columbia and Jerrod Dawkins of Gaffney; two step-sisters; four grandchildren who were reared in the home; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted on Friday in Monroe, Conn.
