Brenda (Butch) Hampton

Retired from Overnite

Brenda Lucille Hampton, 68, of 300 Jackson St., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of Levi Hampton and Sarah Wilson Hampton. She was retired from Overnite Transportation and was a member of the Rook Club. Miss Hampton was a member of Elm Street Church of God.

Surviving are a son, Rodney Dean Hampton of Gaffney; a sister, Dorothy Scates and husband, Clyde Jr., of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Todd Hampton and fiance’, Shelia Mansell, Ashley Hampton and Stacy Hampton; two great-grandchildren, Koby Martin and Jordan Martin; two honorary grandchildren, Brandon Peeler and Timberly Wyatt; two special nieces, Judy Moore and Jody Dover; and a special nephew, Nick Hampton.

Miss Hampton was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Hampton, and two sisters, Shirley H. Putnam and Mary Wyatt.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
