Miss Perry, Mr. Painter wed July 11
MR. AND MRS. JOSHUA SCOTT PAINTER
Melanie Grace Perry and Joshua Scott Painter were united in marriage Saturday, July 11, 2009, at West End Baptist Church. The Rev. Everett Vaughan officiated the 2 p.m. double ring ceremony. A church reception followed.
Linda Thompson, greataunt of the bride, rendered a prelude of music on the piano prior to the ceremony. For the processional she played “Canon in D” and for the entrance of the bride she performed “Bridal March.” Patricia Honeyman, aunt of the bride, sang “My Everything,” “Amazing Grace” and “Me and You.”
The sanctuary was enhanced with ferns, ficus trees and sage greenery complemented with white tulle swags. Floor candelabra and the unity candle with crystals completed the altar setting. A bouquet of flowers in a vase tied with sage bows was placed in each window and each pew was trimmed with yellow, sage and white tulle bows down the aisle.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attired in a white mermaid style gown embellished with pearls and sequins. The beaded strapless bodice was accented in the back with silver beads, sequins and satin buttons that extended into the flowing train. Her veil of illusion was caught to a tiara of crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and pearls enhanced with baby’s breath.
Bethany Poole of Gaffney attended the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Bowman, Jamie Mathis and Jenna Dellinger, all of Gaffney. Their strapless sage green gowns were enhanced with kiwi green satin sashes and they carried green and beige roses with baby’s breath.
The groom’s sister, Heather Painter, of Gaffney served as the miniature bride.
Juliana Bunge, cousin of the bride, of Virginia was flower girl. She wore a white chiffon tea-length dress accented with a white sash and carried green and beige roses.
Andrew Deloach of Georgia, cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer.
The groom was attended by his father, Scott Painter, and his stepfather, Bill Bostic, as best men. Groomsmen were John McKinney, brother of the groom, and Greg Cooprider, both of Gaffney.
Ushers were Chandler Perry, brother of the bride, and Cody Bostic, brother of the groom.
The guest book was attended by Keithi Cooper of Simpsonville, cousin of the bride. Program attendants were Hailey Bunge and Myranda Bunge, both of Virginia and cousins of the bride, and Mary-Elizabeth Robbins of Shelby. The wedding was directed by the bride’s aunt, April Rollins of Shelby.
The bride is the daughter of David and Melinda Perry of Gaffney. Her grandparents are Joan Perry of Gaffney, Everett and Linda Vaughan of Shelby and the late Mickey Perry. A 2007 graduate of Gaffney High School, she is a junior at Limestone College majoring in Math Education.
The groom is the son of Bill and Kim Bostic and Scott Painter, all of Gaffney. His grandparents are Wayne and Linda Brown, Rita Painter, Dorothy Wright and Johnsie Stutts, all of Gaffney, Linda Quinnn of Spartanburg, the late Lee Painter and the late Johnny Quinn. A 2007 graduate of Gaffney High School, he is employed by Bonitz Construction and the S.C. Army National Guard.
Mr. and Mrs. Painter are making their home in Cowpens after a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas.
